Race- warmed up DI loop with Dallen, Jake, and Mitch, then did some fartleks on the track. Put our spikes on and did some strides, then said a quick prayer then we got lined up. I was seeded 22nd with the 10:10 that coach put me in at, and there were 28 guys in the heat, 15 guys sub-10 going into it. It was an alley start and I got stuck on the very end of the last one! Which was okay. The race started and I got into a good position in the middlish of the pack. First lap was like a 1:13, the first mile was pretty uneventful, but going into the mile, Jake and Mitch were both pretty close which was good. 4:56. The Desert Hells guys started to make a move going into lap 6 so I decided I would stick with them as long as I could. We passed Spencer from Dixie as well as a few other dudes, but both Tanner and Bryson beat me. Finished with a HUGE PR of 9:56. I'm stoked because I hit state qualifying and now I get to show all I got at state! I'm so freaking excited.

Blog Beast Honorable Mentions: Connor Baller (first JR (4th overall?) as well as a 9:38 which is freaking quick, also won AA), Hell Raiser (State qualify/5 sec PR of 4:25 in the 1600), Model-T (3rd JR 9th overall 9:50), Holt (for running the best meet ever which was right on schedule the whole time), and Mitchell Price (PR in the 3200 with a 10:07)

BLOG BEAST OF THE DAY goes to BrysonKing for his DHells freshman record in the 3200 with a 9:52 I think. That dude is a freaking beast.
