AM- 3 miles easy AC.

PM- .5 prewarm, 1.5 warm, 6x1000 w/recovery, 1.5 cool. Felt good on these and ran my fastest 1000s of the season with a 3:24, :26, :28, :25, :25, and 28. On the fifth one, Byron and Abel said that we should all try to stick with them on it and I promised myself that if I was not within 5 seconds of them, I would do another one. I was not even close to them on it and did another one with the Freshmen who were late.

Dixie Rock route. 11.3 miles total. 2 miles tempo. Tempo time: 12:54. Total time: 1:26:59. Average total pace: 7:42. Total calories burned: 1091. This was my longest run ever. I felt really good and accomplished my lifelong goal of running to Dixie Rock from my home. Mental note for next time: do it when it's light outside. It was super scary running in the dark. I felt like I was going pretty slow, but it was a pretty average pace for my regular runs. I really didn't want to run this far today, but I had jokingly told my mom that I was going to run to Dixie Rock and she said that I couldn't do it so I pretty much had to. This has also been my record mileage week! I am on the first page of the mileage board! :0

AM- 3 miles easy. Felt good but we were late.

PM- .5 warm, 1.5 warm, 4x1200, 1.5 cool. 4:07, :07, :20, :18. Not my best workout. I really feel awful about this workout because I know i should be doing a heck of a lot faster! I don't know what's up with me on these workouts.

AM- 3 miles easy AC. On time today and felt good... Except that I was super sore in the legs.

PM- .5 warm, 7 miles Roller Coaster Loop. First time ever doing roller coasters and it was actually surprisingly easy. Felt super great, but my legs felt really heavy. Really succesful run today and I'm feeling great.

AM- 3 miles easy AC route. Pretty chipper this morning. Felt super sore in my legs and especially my left hip.

PM- .5 prewarm, 1.5 warm, 6x400s w/recovery, 1 mile jog, 1.5 cool. On this workout, we started at a set time (1:20) and worked our way down 1 second on each repetition until you didn't hit the time. I must say that I expected a lot more out of me today, but my hip was just really hurting and bothering me today. I know I'm going to do a lot better next time. I could have done a lot worse.

AM- 3 miles easy AC. Hip hurt super bad and I was struggling to keep up, but I did. I'm taking care of it (ice, stretch, roll) and hopefully it gets better soon.

PM- .5 warm, 5 miles easy, 8xstriders. Mall Loop Route. Felt good today besides my hip. This was actually my first time ever going this route before. We started out a nice easy pace, but we were flying by the end of it. Excited to race this weekend.

Before the race, we warmed up a good 3 miles at least and then we raced. I started out and I just could not get myself to breath right. Also my stomach was feeling sick. I was second to last on the team and then Jake passed me and I was last! I could not get going so I just decided to pass people 1 by 1 and hope for the best. Around the last mile, me Dave and Dallen were in our own little group but me and Dallen just took off and started passing some guys and I ended up with 19:01 and 12th on the team. Puked right at the finish line! Good experience

AM- 3 miles easy AC route. Felt good this morning in our nice easy pace and it wasn't even very cold this morning. But that just meant that it was warm in the afternoon... Yuck.

PM- .5 prewarm, 1.5 warm, 3x1200 w/recovery, 1.5 cool. Went in to this feeling super great (except I think I'm developing a headcold because I was super congested) and I did pretty good on my first one with a 3:59. It really took the wind out of me, but I was feeling a little less pooped out by the end of the recovery and I really slowed down on the second one and came in with a 4:11. All that was in my head on the last one was just to improve from that horrid time. Coach told us to focus more on the second half of these and that's what I wanted to do so I purposefully held back a little on the first half of my last one and I really took off on the last half. I was with Jason and he was pushing to keep with me, but I am a really stubborn runner when I really want something. I started to push away from him at about the baseball field and caught Krenny and ended up gapping them by 7 seconds by the end! Last one was a 4:07.

PM- .5 warm, 5 miles easy, 8xstriders. Felt good today except I ate a lot of ice cream during lunch and it gave me a side ache.

AM- 3 miles easy AC route. We went pretty fast this morning, but I was feeling good.

PM- .5 warm, 4 miles easy, 4x200. We went a nice pace on the 4 miles, but for some reason I was struggling. My legs felt so heavy and I was tired and it just felt hard. I feel like I have not been improving in my running since the beginning of the season despite my commitment, but I'm going to keep working my heart out and see what happens. I did alright on the 200s, but took the recovery a bit slower than the other guys.

AM- 3 miles AC route. Good run this morning with the guys.

PM- .5 warm, 2 warm, 2 mile time trial, 2 cool. Time: 12:15. Worst. Race. Ever. I keep having to say that about all my races lately because they just keep getting worse and worse. Hopefully it's just a phase. I felt like I was going all out on this race, but I know I could go faster because I have before. Even mini Thatcher beat me! I just could not get my legs going! Definitely can only get better from here.

AM- 3 miles easy AC route. Felt good this morning. Was late with Matt and Dave so I just ran with them.

PM- 1.5 warm, 5x400s hard w/full recovery, 1.5 cool. Forgot I had an orthodontist appointment so ran on my own after it. Let me just say that it is so hard to motivate yourself to run fast on these workouts by yourself. Ran a few laps around the block then ran to Washington Elementary and used their "track". Coach said that one lap was just short of a 400 so I added a little on each lap. My times were super surprisingly good for me! I hit 1:09, 1:08, 1:06, 1:05, 1:05 On the Washington Track!! Sure I might have been just a little off on the distance, but this is the first time in a long time I got better on each repeat! I think the reason I did so good was because there were some little kids playing on the playground cheering me on... Just goes to show that you can do anything if you want to impress little kids.

5.5 miles with 1 tempo. I was going to run today with Cam and Andrew but I woke up too late and we didn't even set up a place to meet.

Anyways, I decided before the run that I was going to do some of the Grapevine trail with a few dirt miles thrown in, but it didn't end up that way; I combined 4 of our infamous summer routes into one! I went up to the dirt mile and ran the north side of it and went past Maverick onto Grapevine. I ran as far onto Grapevine as I could before crying because how scary it is and started my tempo on the way back from Grapevine until the Parkway hill (down) and then I found a nice little trail on the side of Parkway Hill that was the much safer (and funner) alternative. Ran the tempo in a 6:15 (I had planned on doing 2 miles, but I felt gross). Then I turned onto Telegraph and got quite a number of whistles and honks ;) ran down until I got to Scenic Drive, famous for having the most unrelatable name ever, then ran home. Legs felt great, insides did not.

AM- Accidentally slept in this morning... Unfortunately, Byron did too so I had nobody to wake me up.

PM- .5 warm, 1.5 warm, 1 mile time trial, 1.5 cool. I felt super good today at school, but when we started the warmup I felt super awful (legs felt fine though). We started and I could not find a good position. I went around a huge group of guys around the 200 and I think that really saved my time from being crappy. I crossed the first lap around 1:12. I kept around the same position placewise the whole time and I don't remember the rest of my splits but ended with a 5:02. Just barely off my PR. I'm just so relieved that it was not a deprovement (as a lot of my workouts and races have been going).

What I did well: I ran a nice solid time. I am proud of the time I got even though I could do better.

What I could improve on: Coach talked to me afterwards and he said that I need to stop fighting and just run smoothly. I also think not taking out as fast and just easing into it would help my time too.

Goals for next time: Let's PR this mutha cussa.

Race- Super fun race! Got to the starting line and did some stride outs and then we started. I had my fastest first mile split ever with a 5:25ish. At that point I was with Dave, Krenny, and Jake. Soon after that, Krenny fell off and Jake sped up. Me and Dave crossed the 2 mile split with an awful 11:40ish I think. Dave and I just kept pushing each other and I didn't see another team member the rest of the race. I am pretty proud of my time, even though it was not as well as I wanted it to be. It was super muddy which made it all the harder. On another note, I got a picture with Aubrey Argyle afterwards!

AM- 3 miles easy. Was going to take my 2 week break, but then I was given the oppurtunity to go to Footlocker so I can redeem myself there!

PM- .5 warm, 1.5 warm, 2x1 mile repeats (non track) w/400 recovery, 4x200s hard, 1.5 cool. Felt pretty average on this workout and actually surprised myself on the first one with a 5:35 which is faster than my mile PR last year on the track. Ran my second one a lot slower with a 5:51. I don't know what happened, but I did notice I felt sick afterwards so maybe that's it. The 400s went surprisingly well. Not sure of my times though.

PM- .5 warm, ran to sunrise hill, 4xhill repeats, run to PV. Felt pretty good on these hills, but it completely wrecked my legs! Finished average on all of them, which means I probably could have done them a bit better.
