| | PM- (NO more mornings because of the taper for state). Did 1.5 warm, 4x400s, 1.5 cool. Felt pretty nice today and I sported the new gold chain! These were supposed to be at goal 3200 pace (1:13s, 1:14s), but we were feeling a little ancy and coached taught us how to run like sub-4 miler Mathew Maton so what can I say... Also we were in spikes. We went something like 1:13, 1:10. 1:10, 1;05. Nothing very tough at all. Just getting pumped for state

| | PM- 1.5 warm/cool, 2xMaster Blasters. Pretty fun day on the track today. Just had some all out master blasters with the sprinters, then a set with just us distance guys. We have teams of three and we do 3 200s each, the recovery is the time it takes the rest of your team to do their's. First team was me, Cam, and Amber Archibald (yeah she's pretty cute) and we got 2nd. Second team was me, Cam, and Alli P (also somewhat cute) and we got 2nd again. Cam would always leave early so mine were really 215 meters ;)

| | PM- Shoe Run then 1x(300,200,100) with our spikes. It was a pretty nice day today, but it was hot and windy. Last "workout" on the track until next year.
LIVE UPDATE: For those of you who have seen me with my shirt off, you know I have had this "thing" growing on me for the past couple of months. It has created an internal conflict between myself when wanting to run shirtless. So this afternoon, I was contemplating state (as well as this "thing") and so I decided that I was brave and had to conquer my fears on the track as well as on my body. (Here's where it gets grusome. DO NOT READ ON IF YOU ARE PRONE TO NOT LIKING GROSS THINGS): I took my nail clippers, situated the "thing" in between the blades, counted to three, and pushed as hard as I could. It did not work and it did nothing but make it bleed uncontrollably. I then decided it was now or never. I could run with my shirt on forever or destroy the beast! So I situated my nails on either side of the "thing" and I yelled and pulled as hard as I could. It ripped off! Blood EVERYWHERE! It is gone. I should hopefully have nothing but a small scab for a couple days and then back to normal. Just goes to show that you can conquer your fears and everything that is holding you back.

UHSAA State Track 3A 3200 (2 Miles) 00:10:02, Place overall: 10, Place in age division: 8 | | RACE- Warmed up on the Ted Bundy trail and started to get read for the race. Got over there and the bull pen had a heater so I didn't want to leave! But we left and the race started. The first mile was fine and there was a big group, but then all of a sudden the leaders slowed down a ton on the 5th lap and nobody would take the lead, and since I'm not known to have the best of kicks, I took it for about a lap to see if I could do anything. Turned out to not be too much to my advantage, but I was seeded 13th and finished 10th which was good. I would like to bet I could've ran better if I was more confident. I more had the mentality of I was just happy to be there racing, but I probably should have been more in it and actually tried to really really push myself. Only 2 of the finishers ahead of me were seniors. Just shows how competitive things will be in this upcoming year. Can't wait for summer practice! We might even do a few workouts with the Hells I've heard so that will be way fun. Honestly, I like having fun with running. I may not be the fastest (yet), but I sure do enjoy running with the guys who are.
Taking a few weeks off of running before summer practice starts up. This summer is going to be a time of intense growth for me. Everybody better watch out because PV is stacking up. We're gonna work our butts off and hopefully reap a nice reward. I have so much fun in this sport and I enjoy the growth I've had in my running. I'm only going to get better from here.
